Long term residential care at dementia level
Bethany Hill provides dementia level care – a 30-bed facility which provides a protected living environment for people who are affected by dementia and related disorders. We provide long term residential care, respite care, day care and care for under 65 with disability. We are set in a peaceful rural setting with magnificent southern views over Whangateau Harbour and Omaha Bay and beautiful native bushes and hills on our north and west boundaries.

Awareness
Day
The goal of this day was to increase awareness of dementia within the Warkworth and Wellsford Community. It was a resounding success, with over 70 people from the community in attendance.

Features
At Bethany Hill, our residents can enjoy watching the chickens and guinea fowls fossicking in the courtyard. Along the way, there are raised garden beds so residents can actively participate in gardening. The design maximises indoor-outdoor flow, with residents free to wander safely through the park-like surroundings without feeling confined. There are farm animals in the neighbouring paddocks, fruit trees and a vegetable garden which residents are encouraged to help tend. We believe that living with dementia does not mean being holed up indoors where it is ‘safe’ rather the engagement with nature, fresh air, appreciation of countryside and great outdoors each day can bring all kinds of benefits both physically and mentally.
Services
Nature & Animals
Residents can enjoy watching the birds and guinea fowls playing in the court yards and native bushes. Sensory gardens, a chicken coop and many other features provide freedom and instil a feeling of peace for all our residents. These areas are very functional with unrestricted access designed specifically to support the people with dementia.
Activities
We have dedicated activity coordinators who organise activities, such as arts and crafts, gardening, walking to the beach, van outings, exercise and sing along music. Our activities result in social interaction which enriches the resident’s physical and mental well-being.
Nursing Care
Our nursing care provides a 24/7 supervision for our residents. Our approach to nursing care is based on the use of personalised care plans. Drawn up with the individuals we support and their families, our care plans will help ensure that each person we look after is treated with respect and that their independence and choices are maximised.
Homes at Bethany Hill.
We have one wing holding a capacity for ten people, with its own dining room, lounge and access to a variety of gardens and the great outdoors. There are two other wings that support up to 20 people, also requiring secure dementia level care. They have their own dining room, a lounge, large decks and easy access to the gardens.

Check out our sister home
Milton Court Rest Home is a boutique home providing residential and dementia care to our residents. We are one street back from the beach. The home is set in a relaxed landscape, with lovely courtyard gardens view-able from lounges, bedrooms, and the dining room.
